NICE TO MEET YOU! I'M KELSEY.

I grew up here in Richmond, Virginia, but my family hails from the Pacific Northwest, and I secretly consider myself a Portlander. I am ever amazed at the power music can bring to a room, to a heart, to a community... and have happily built a life and a living around continually re-discovering that intangible beauty and sharing it with others.

My development as a young musician was founded in the converted dens and dining rooms of a small handful of excellent local professionals and, I, as such, am a huge advocate for quality neighborhood teachers. Find one you love!

My degree is in Music Education, and have enjoyed a variety of professions in this realm over the past fifteen years as a school music/choral teacher, a church choir director, a piano and voice instructor, a freelance soloist, and a worship leader. My best work usually involves at least one of the following factors: creativity, collaboration, a lightbulb moment, the key of E, or a middle-schooler (I just love 'em).

Outside of this work, I am a big fan of my two incredible tween children, my day job as a public school music teacher, plain black coffee, the word "cozy", belly laughing, and clever turns of phrase.

I am available locally for voice and piano lessons, weddings and special events, and substitute church work.
